Our Mission

Community Information and Referral Services serves as Arizona’s key source of integrated information that brings people and services together to meet vital needs.

Our Vision

All Arizonans are easily connected to available health and human services in their communities.

Who We Are

Community Information and Referral Services was founded in 1964 and incorporated as a private, nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization in 1979. Read our latest annual reports for more details. Our Board of Directors and supporters help direct us toward the future.

What We Do

2-1-1 Arizona serves all of Arizona all day every day. From July 2013 through June 2014, we handled more than 1.3 million requests for help with health and human services through our call center and website.

We publish the Directory of Human Services & Self-Help Support Groups for Maricopa County and provide lists and mailing labels from our referral database for a nominal fee.

Beyond Referrals

We offer a variety of other programs throughout our community.

Arizona Foreclosure HotlineArizona Foreclosure Hotline 1-877-448-1211
Community Information and Referral Services partners with the Arizona Department of Housing to guide the thousands of Arizonans facing foreclosure on their homes to agencies that can help them through the process and might be able to help them stay in their homes.

HMISHMIS (Homeless Management Information System) Project
Assesses services provided to and unmet needs of people and families who are homeless in 14 counties throughout Arizona. This program is presented in cooperation with several agencies with support from the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).

Also, as a founding member of the Alliance of Information and Referral Services Systems (AIRS), an international professional organization with over 900 members throughout the United States and Canada, we take the lead in providing information to those in need in as many ways as possible.
